Family was gifted rare black-and-white twins then gets the same blessing 7 years later

It is like winning the lottery but twice.

One of the relationships that are most long-lasting in our lives is usually a sibling. Having a sibling comes with a ton of benefits. It’s like the universe gives you a headstart in the best friend department. They are your partner in crime, the secret keeper, and most importantly a person you can trust on.

You share a lot of firsts and a lot of emotions as well.

But everything in life becomes extra if you have a twin.

Who would not agree with that? Having a twin is so cool and lucky in itself. You have someone of your exact age to share things with. You can even share a birthday. Sharing emotions becomes a lot easier because you don’t have to think about the age difference for them to understand you. It doesn’t matter if you look alike or not, it’s still fun.

Meet, Hayleigh and Lauren Durrant, the biracial twins!

Whenever we talk about twins the first thing that comes into our minds is that they look alike. Or if that is not the case they would at least resemble one another in terms of physique or at least skin color.

There is nothing called impossible right? These twin sisters Hayleigh and Lauren have nothing in common in terms of looks. These are biracial twins they look different if someone took just a glance at them.

Lauren is white while Hayleigh is black!

Having twins is already not common, let alone biracial!

The parents’ Dean Durrant and Alison Spooner were also surprised when looked at their kids for the first time.

The twins were born in 2001. Hayleigh got her looks from her dad while Lauren got hers from her mom.

Having twins is uncommon enough but having biracial twins is rare.

People consider this phenomenon as one in million!

Growing up the girls also had some challenges.

Talking about her teens in 2019, Hayleigh said, “Some people can be really rude. They’ll say, ‘You’re lying, you aren’t twins — prove it!’”

“So we’ll reel off the same address or pull our passports out. It’s nice to see the shock on people’s faces. When we went to college it was difficult because there were lots of groups of Asian, white, and black kids,” she added.

But for Lauren and Hayleigh, being biracial twins was still so much fun.

“We were like celebrities when we were kids,” Hayleigh said. “Everyone wanted pictures with us and would ask us how it felt to be twins but different. To us it was normal.”

The family soon found their way to the Guinness World Records after having another pair of biracial twins!

In 2009 something incredible happened to the family. Alion and Dean had another pair of twins. The most shocking part of them as they too were biracial.

The twins’ names are Leah and Miya. If having a pair of twin biracial kids is one million then this must be much rare.

All the kids despite having these differences adored one another and always wanted to be together.

Inseparable as they may seem, the older twins start to have differences as they mature.

The elder girls were always together when they were younger and shared the same interests. They watched the same shows, played with the same toys read the same books.

As they grew older their interests deferred. They are in different courses and want to get into different careers.

Despite the difference in the course that they took in college, they still share a bunch of similarities.

The younger twins adore their older sisters. Leah described them as their “heroes.” She explained that she would like to be like her sisters when she grows up.

They are truly special and one of a kind. They are the world’s only two pairs of biracial twins as of the Guinness book of world records.
